This sports massage took place at the gym in Fishponds called Xercise for less. It started off five minutes late which is never a good and I never understood why then don’t schedule the appointment for ten minutes past the hour if they have to do a changeover from the previous client. The room was sectioned off from the gym which meant the whole time I could hear dumb bells being dropped. Not exactly a relaxing environment!
I was taken upstairs and had to walk through the gym to get to the room. The massage therapist seemed to know her stuff and I had quite a thorough consultation before we began to find out what areas I wanted work on. The only problem is apart from a few aches and pains I don’t actually need physio which is what I imagine this was more aimed at. She decided she was only going to work on my top half because that was where I said I feel most problems although I was under the impression it was a full body massage.
The whole time I was led there it felt like she was applying very little pressure which I’ve never been a fan of. After rubbing my back for about half hour she turned me over and worked on my front and she told me to stretch my arm a certain way then I sat on a chair and she asked me to stretch my neck while she put her elbow in my shoulders. Although I didn’t feel like much was happening at the time, after I left I did feel like my muscles that are usually tight and give me problems had loosened up which surprised me as every other time I’ve had a massage where it feels very little pressure is being applied I don’t usually notice any difference.
I would say if you have an injury or need physio then maybe this is worth checking out otherwise I’d go with a different massage therapist in Bristol that I have rated higher.
