This is probably the longest book I’ve ever read at over 700 pages, each one had me gripped with intrigue and a real feeling of despair for the human race.
Starting in 2016, it spans about three decades. There are worrying parallels to real life where humanity have polluted the atmosphere and the environment, fueling the runaway effect of global warming. The key characters are a number of scientists and a freedom fighting group called Midnite Net who are in a constant battle with corporations, governments and a cult religious group willing to go to any means to prevent the truth from getting out. A truly thrilling story where not everything is as it appears when the powers at be are constantly twisting the truth and controlling the media..
Although a work of fiction a lot of the science in the book is based on current research. Indeed at the end of the book there are over 30 pages including articles from real life weather and climate events over the years 2013-2015 showing the evidence and effects of how our planet’s climate is changing.
In the book, Florida is hit by horrendous weather and reclaimed by the ocean due to rising sea levels and freak weather events. I read that part just a few days after watching on the news Hurricane Irma decimated the Caribbean and hit Florida hard in September 2017. Another sign of how close we are following the narrative of this book.
I think everyone on the planet should read this book and if not then certainly listen loud and clear to the message of the scary truth behind it. It’s something that I have always though about, how as a species we are so short sighted and do nothing until the stark reality of just how much damage we have done is staring us right in the face, by which time it is usually too late.
Every human being needs to read this book.

“I truly don’t know. Nature has no ethics; it’s not bound by moral considerations. It simply obeys the fundamental laws of cause and effect, of supply and demand. It doesn’t concern itself with whether conditions are suitable for life or not. Species are created and become extinct while nature looks on indifferently.” – Page 487
