The Iceberg Effect by Dean Holland

I bought this book through a Facebook Ad which Dean explains is how I entered his sales funnel which is exactly what this book is about. I would say the first quarter of the book is his background story. Second quarter is some basic exercises worth doing if you’ve never done them before such as finding your why.

It’s not until the second half the book that things are useful with regards to affiliate marketing. In chapter 5 he outlines 4 core areas of focus which is really the nuts and bolts of how affiliate marketing works sucesfully.

  1. Traffic. Which is that you control (paid), don’t control (organic) and own (email list)
  1. Capture. Use an Email List through giving away a lead magnet on a landing page, using an auto responder to send them automatic messages
  1. Follow up. Most people will not buy an offer you present the first time they see it, so an auto responder  increases sales. Page 90-91 has really useful blueprint for first seven emails to send.
  1. Sales system. Don’t just bombard them with useless sales pitches. Make sure it’s in their best interest.

Then in chapter you 7 outlines the phases you want to go through in an ideal order as an affiliate marketer. The first being the connector, the second the creator and the third the commander.

Chapter 8 explains the only 3 ways to grow any business

  1. Acquire more customers.
  2. Sell more products to new customers at original transaction.
  3. Sell more to your existing customers.

Chapter 10 reveals the most powerful word in marketing (which you’ll have to read to find out what that is) and chapter 11 explains the sales funnel.

I knew a lot of this but this is a really good book for beginners at affiliate marketing
